A woman in the UK has undergone the world’s first injectable breast augmentation, increasing her cup size from a small B to a fuller C in just 15 minutes. The minimally invasive procedure marks a new chapter in cosmetic surgery, offering faster recovery and no visible scarring.
Patient Shares Experience on National Television
Erin Alexander appeared on This Morning alongside Dr. Adrian Richards, a plastic surgeon from iQonic Aesthetics in London, one of the first UK clinics to offer the new technique. Speaking to hosts Josie Gibson and Rylan Clark, Erin described the experience just 13 days after having the procedure.
She said, “The recovery period was very short. My breasts went from a small B to a C or D. They’re still developing, so I’m not sure about the final size yet. But I can already see a fullness I’ve never seen before.”
Erin explained that she was able to take a walk the next day and resumed light exercise just a few days later.
A New Approach: How the Procedure Works
Dr. Richards demonstrated the process during the show. “Once Erin is numb, I make a small incision at the back of the breast. Then I create a small tunnel and insert a balloon. We inflate the balloon slightly to help the area relax, then remove it and place the diamond-shaped implant,” he said.

Traditional breast augmentation typically requires general anesthesia and involves an incision under the breast. Implants are placed between the breast tissue and the pectoral muscle. Recovery can take several weeks, and patients often need to rest for at least two weeks. Scarring is a common concern, with marks usually left beneath the breasts.
For Erin, these factors were deal-breakers. “I never wanted to feel like I had surgery. Scars are a big drawback. Dr. Richards noted that Mia implants are limited in how much they can enhance size. “Because the implants are small, they can only increase breast size by one or two cups,” he explained. “The cost is similar to traditional implants.”
