Salley Carson, known from The Bachelor franchise, shared a personal story about her breast augmentation surgery. She said she got the procedure during her engagement because she thought her ex-fiance liked it. However, she now regrets the decision and is reversing it.
In a conversation with fellow Southern Charm newcomer Molly O’Connell, 37, Carson explained, “I bought them when I was with my ex-fiance. I thought he liked it. I just don’t think I did it for the right reasons.”
Feeling Pressure Without Direct Requests
Carson said her ex-fiance never explicitly asked her to change her appearance. But she felt insecure because the women he was interested in had bigger breasts and looked different from her.
“My ex-fiance didn’t say to me, ‘Your breasts aren’t good enough.’ He never said that,” she shared. “But the girls he was after had bigger breasts and didn’t look like me, which made me a little insecure. But now, if a guy asks me to do something or makes me feel that way, I’ll just end the relationship.”
Understanding Breast Augmentation Procedures
According to the Cleveland Clinic, breast implants—usually made of silicone or saline—are surgically placed by plastic surgeons to enhance breast size and shape.
During the same episode, Molly O’Connell revealed she had a different type of augmentation called fat grafting. This procedure uses liposuction to remove fat from areas like the ankles and calves, then injects the purified fat into the breasts. The Cleveland Clinic notes that fat grafting generally carries fewer risks than implants.
“I had liposuction on my ankles and calves, and then I stuffed the fat into my chest because I have no breasts,” Molly joked during the interview. “Everyone tells me I look amazing,” she added.
Reflecting on a Difficult Breakup and Personal Growth
Carson has openly discussed her breakup with her ex-fiance on Southern Charm and other Bachelor shows, including Clayton Echard’s season.
“I was 22 and got engaged,” she recalled on the January 16 episode of Southern Charm. “We lived in a big house, he wanted kids, and I thought I had it all. Then, 25 days before the wedding, I got a DM saying he’d been cheating on me, so I canceled the wedding and moved to Charleston. That’s when Single Sally came roaring back.”
She also described the relationship as “very toxic” in an interview with People and said she is now “in a completely different place than I was when I was on The Bachelor.”
