Kaitlyn Bristowe, 39, revealed her recent breast augmentation to friends and family in a lighthearted and unconventional manner. On Instagram, she posted a video holding up images labeled “left breast” and “right breast,” mimicking the style of pregnancy ultrasound photos.
“Another boob blunder,” Bristowe wrote. “Don’t worry IBTC, I may not be CEO anymore, but I’m definitely still part of the club.” She captioned the video, “Telling my friends and family I’m having twins.”
In the comments, her friend Ariel Vandenberg joked, “Wait, you called me about your boobs? I thought you were actually having twins. Caitlyn what the f*ck is wrong with you?” Bristowe replied, “The Meryl Streep of our generation.”
Open About Body Image Struggles and Growth
Bristowe has been open about her complicated relationship with her body over the years. In February, she shared on Instagram that she avoids posting bikini photos due to body dysmorphia. She wrote, “I don’t post bikini pics because of body dysmorphia. I don’t understand myself. But I love myself.”
Since first appearing on Season 19 of The Bachelor in 2015, Bristowe has spoken publicly about her struggles with body image. She later became the Bachelorette in Season 11, got engaged to Shawn Booth, and then split after three years. She was also engaged to Bachelor alum Jason Tartick before they separated. She is currently dating Zac Clark, the ex-fiance of Tayshia Adams.
Reflecting on her past mindset, Bristowe said in a March 2024 Instagram Story, “Five years ago, I thought I needed to eat air and grill chicken to prepare.” She added, “Now, I’m thinking, ‘Eh, I like snacks. Eating these snacks isn’t going to make my body change overnight.’”
She continued, “I’m going to be hard on myself no matter what, but let’s put all our emotions into loving the body I have while it stays strong and healthy. I still struggle, but I’ve realized that growth is a victory. Body dysmorphia is real.”
Embracing Self-Care and Responding to Critics
As a public figure, Bristowe says she has faced criticism but remains confident in her choices. In a February 2024 Instagram Story, she responded to comments urging her to stop cosmetic procedures: “I never will. I love skincare. I love having bright, firm, glowy skin. I love it.”
She also addressed online negativity in December 2024. Posting a then-and-now photo, she wrote, “Believe it or not, I’m stronger than ever. You can’t see it with your eyes, but I’ve never felt it more. For those who always want to comment ‘you were so much prettier before you had all that plastic surgery,’ I suggest you do some important work on your inner self before judging the outer appearance.”
