Kelly Stafford, wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, has spoken candidly about her recent plastic surgery and how it has affected her confidence. During the May 26 episode of her podcast, The Morning After, the 35-year-old mother of four discussed the details of her procedures with her guest and plastic surgeon, Dr. Garth Fisher.
Details of the Procedures
Stafford referred to the work as “kind of like a mommy makeover.” She explained that Dr. Fisher performed breast surgery, a tummy tuck, and also “fixed [her] butt.”
“I had my breasts done, and you did a tummy tuck,” she said. “And you fixed my butt.”
She also shared that she had undergone breast augmentation before this most recent surgery. “I can’t even remember what year it was,” she added.
Feeling Confident Post-Surgery
Now, after her latest procedures, Stafford says she feels “great” and “very confident.” However, she admitted to initially having a few misconceptions about what a tummy tuck actually involves.
“A lot of people living in California know what a tummy tuck is,” she said. “But when I was told about a tummy tuck, what I was thinking was, ‘Isn’t that liposuction?’ I was thinking liposuction and then skin removal.”
She recalled her reaction: “I remember being like, ‘Oh my God, okay.’”
Family Planning and Timing
During the conversation, Stafford hinted that she and her husband may be finished expanding their family. She explained that the timing of a tummy tuck matters, especially for women who may still want to have children.
“You don’t want to get a tummy tuck, take the skin off, and then get pregnant,” she said. “Because that’s kind of a waste.”
Kelly and Matthew Stafford are parents to four daughters: 8-year-old twins Sawyer and Chandler, 6-year-old Hunter, and 4-year-old Tyler. The couple met at the University of Georgia and married in April 2015.
On Aging and Feeling Sexy
Stafford also reflected on how age can affect one’s decisions about cosmetic surgery. She emphasized the importance of feeling youthful and attractive at the time of the procedure.
“You should do it when you’re still craving sexiness,” she said. “I’m not saying I don’t have that craving 18 years later. But I just think it gets harder when you’re older.”
Past Experience with Skin Treatment
While her experience with Dr. Fisher was positive, Stafford shared a negative memory from a past cosmetic treatment. Before having children, she underwent a laser procedure that left her with burns on her face.
“I got burns all over my face, and I’ll never forget it,” she said. “We went skiing, and I had to wear Aquaphor and had so many pads on my face.”
Despite the discomfort, Stafford didn’t let it keep her from enjoying herself. “We went out like that. We went clubbing,” she said.
Her podcast co-host Hank Winchester joked, “You shouldn’t have gone to the bar that night.” Stafford replied with a laugh, “I didn’t want to miss out on a good time.”
