Matt Leff has denied having plastic surgery following conspiracy theories circulating online about his drastically altered face.
In his new book, Your Mom Will Love Me, the comedian claims that his altered appearance is due to delayed puberty.
“Puberty finally decided to hit me in the head after taking its sweet time for over two decades,” he wrote.
Leff explained that in just a few months, he went from looking like “a 13-year-old” to “my actual age” – “like a real adult.”
The Netflix star described his face as suddenly “wider” and his features as “more prominent,” adding that he was also “a few inches taller.”
Additionally, Leff credited his changed appearance to his frequent gym visits with friend and comedian Dane Cook.
“I started the day by lifting weights,” he shared. “It cleared my head.”
The actor admitted that his “weird puberty” sparked “countless internet conspiracy theories” that he had plastic surgery.
Leve then complained that his comedy career began to suffer as he got older and his looks got better.
“As a comedian, you’re supposed to make the audience like you, right?” he wrote in his memoir. “Alas, who the hell likes attractive people? Nobody!”
To plastic surgeons who speculated that the “Wild ‘N Out” star had undergone facial injections and other procedures, he countered that they had a “serious lack of common sense.”
Leve has showcased his objectively attractive looks in past stand-up performances.
“It just happened,” he said, pointing to his face during a live show last year. “I had puberty so late, I was so disrespectful. For the first 22 years of my life, I was ugly as hell. I know I look like every other Korean boy. But I considered myself ‘ugly’. Technically that does make me transgender, well, trans Hansen. Transgender.”
The social media star also made fun of his jawline, saying that even if he tried to kill himself, he wouldn’t be able to hang himself because his “chin would cut the rope.”
