Ariana Grande took a lie detector test for Vanity Fair alongside her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo. Some of the questions the pop star had to face were actually about herself!
“Have you ever had plastic surgery to make yourself feel more ‘popular’?” Erivo asked, subtly referencing one of Wicked’s most famous songs, “Popular.” Grande seemed happy to finally get the chance to clear up rumors that she may have had plastic surgery. “Thank God,” she said, perhaps in another allusion to a Wicked song. Grande denied having a nose job and laughed off the idea of breast augmentation. “Can you imagine?” she asked.
The “Side to Side” singer said she hasn’t had a facelift “yet,” but she’s “open” to the idea. “I’ve had fillers in a lot of places and Botox, but I stopped about four years ago,” she told her co-star and polygraph administrator. Grande was delighted when the polygraph determined all of her responses were “truthful.” “This is the happiest day of my life!” she beamed, before exclaiming, “YouTube friends, go for it!”
The “Into You” singer also said she is “all for” any cosmetic surgery people want. “Any surgery that makes women, men, and gender non-conforming people feel beautiful should be allowed! Why should we care?” she asked Erivo.
The pop star said on the polygraph that she had a BBL (Brazilian butt lift). Her “yes” was marked as “cheating” by the machine. “No,” she went on to tell the “Purple” actress. “That didn’t work for me, I don’t think that’s for me.” Erivo agreed, with Grande adding, “I agree!”
The Wicked stars giggled throughout the video, and both said they had been looking forward to their polygraph interview with Vanity Fair. During her polygraph test, Erivo revealed that she “completely” forgot the lyrics to her song on stage, as well as some details about her friendship with Grande.
