Actress Denise Richards recently opened up about an unexpected injury she sustained while filming the third season of G.I. Joe: The World’s Toughest Test, a reality show that pushes contestants to complete intense physical challenges. Speaking on The Jeff Lewis Show, Richards revealed she “ruptured” her breast implants during one of the extreme stunts on the show.
When asked by host Jeff Lewis about some of the thrilling challenges, which included jumping from a boat into a helicopter, Richards recalled an incident while jumping off a bridge. “I also jumped off a bridge, and that’s when my implants fell out of that thing,” she revealed, describing the situation as both shocking and painful.
How the Stunt Affected Her Health
Richards went on to explain how the harness she wore during the stunt impacted her breast implants. “The harness I was wearing during the stunt affected both of my breast implants,” she said. As a result, the actress needed to undergo additional surgery to correct the damage caused during the filming.
She further shared that she was supposed to have the surgery a month earlier but was unable to do so due to her filming schedule. “I had to redo it,” she added, acknowledging the delay. Despite the injury, Richards is taking responsibility for the surgery and plans to pay for it herself, rather than relying on insurance or coverage from the show.
A Close Call
Richards also mentioned that there was a point when she considered pulling out of the show due to the injury. “I think we almost signed off from doing the show, which is dangerous,” she said, reflecting on how close she came to stepping away from the competition.
This incident highlights the extreme nature of the stunts featured on G.I. Joe: The World’s Toughest Test, as well as the risks involved in such physically demanding reality shows. Despite her injury, Richards remains determined to handle the situation on her own terms, and fans are hoping for her swift recovery.
