Kristin Davis “Relentlessly Mocked” For Using Fillers

by Alice

Kristin Davis has revealed that she was reduced to tears by mean comments on social media criticising her use of fillers.

The 58-year-old actress spoke to The Daily Telegraph on Friday about her experience with cosmetic surgery.

“I’ve had fillers that worked well and fillers that didn’t work well,” the Sex and the City star said. “I had a dissolving procedure and was mercilessly mocked.”

She continued: “I was in tears about it. It was stressful.”

The Colorado native rose to fame playing Charlotte York Goldenblatt on the hit HBO series for six seasons from 1998 to 2004. She reprised the role in the 2008 film Sex and the City 2 and its 2010 sequel, Just Like That.

Davis and her co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon will return to the series in 2021 for the sequel Just Like That… Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in the original series and movies, chose not to return for the first season due to a feud with Parker.

However, HBO Max recently confirmed that Cattrall will guest-star in the season 2 finale, which is set to premiere later this month.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Davis said she and her fellow actors have been mocked online for their older appearance and have also been criticized for trying to look younger.

“It’s hard to be in front of your younger self all the time,” Davis explained. “And it’s also hard to remember that you don’t have to look like that. The internet wants you to be like this, but they don’t want you to be like this either. They’re conflicted…”

The “Couples Getaway” star told the outlet that she no longer cares as much about negative comments from social media users.

“Whatever,” Davis said. “I can’t hold on to it. I don’t have time. You trust the doctor, and when something goes wrong, people blame us – (it’s like) I had a needle in my face…”

Davis clarified that she was specifically referring to the plastic surgery she had done to her lips.

“For so long, no one told me that things weren’t looking good,” Davis said.

“But luckily I had some good friends who eventually did,” she continued. “The thing is you don’t smile at yourself in the mirror. Who smiles at themselves in the mirror? Crazy people.”

This isn’t the first time Davis has called out critics who have criticized her and her “Just Like That” co-stars online.

In December 2021, Davis told The Sunday Times that she was shocked by the “misogynistic comments” about their age online.

“What should I do? Stop aging? Disappear?” Davis said.

“Everyone wants to comment on our hair, our faces, this and that, whether it’s a thumbs up or a thumbs down or whatever. The level of intensity is shocking,” she added. “I feel angry and I don’t want to be angry all the time, so I don’t look at it, I just know it’s there.”
