Joe Hart, 38, arrived at Soccer Aid training this week with a sharp new buzz cut. The ex-Manchester City and England goalkeeper, once known for his signature short blond hairstyle, appeared noticeably different.
In the early 2010s, Hart’s distinct look even earned him a sponsorship deal with Head & Shoulders. Today, however, his haircut may reflect a more personal choice—possibly linked to recent hair thickening surgery.
Scalp Redness Points to Hair Transplant Procedure
Just nine days ago, Hart posted a video on Instagram, proudly displaying a full head of hair. At a fitting session for the upcoming Soccer Aid charity match at Old Trafford, his scalp showed signs of redness. This redness is commonly seen after a hair transplant, suggesting he may have recently undergone a procedure to increase hair density.
While Hart has not confirmed the surgery, the appearance of his scalp aligns with the effects of follicle transplantation, a popular method for enhancing hair volume.
Hart to Return to the Pitch for Charity Match
On Sunday, Hart will take to the pitch once more, playing 45 minutes in goal for England during the Soccer Aid charity game. He will share goalkeeping duties with TV personality Paddy McGuinness.
The England team also features several high-profile former internationals, including Wayne Rooney, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Steph Houghton, and Jill Scott.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The evening start gives Hart an opportunity to go without a hat and instead apply sunscreen to protect his healing scalp.
