Wes Welker, known for his prolific career with the Denver Broncos, has revealed the results of a hair transplant he underwent last year. The procedure was performed by Dr. Robert Leonard in Rhode Island, and Welker shared details with USA Today.
Welker went bald due to male pattern hair loss. He decided to seek a permanent solution. Last year, he visited Dr. Leonard for follicle transplantation.
Speaking Openly About the Procedure
In the typically tight-lipped world of football locker rooms, Welker chose transparency. “It’s nothing to be embarrassed about,” he told USA Today. He encouraged others experiencing hair loss to consider restoration if it matters to them.
Welker noted that the transplant will take around 18 months before his new hair is fully mature. He expects visible results by the 12-month mark.
From Gridiron Success to Personal Confidence
A five-time Pro Bowler, Welker caught passes from Tom Brady and Peyton Manning during his NFL tenure. Now retired, he is equally proud of his updated appearance.
“Grow your hair if you want to grow it,” he said. “I don’t hide it, and people notice. That’s fine.”
