Rebel Wilson, 45, sustained a serious nose injury during the last night of shooting her new action-comedy Bride Is Hard to Find. The actress was grappling with a stuntman when a prop gun struck her face, splitting her nose and causing heavy bleeding.
Immediate Hospital Treatment
Wilson shared the incident on Instagram in August 2023, posting images of her bruised face. She told reporters that production rushed her to a local hospital in Savannah, Georgia, where a plastic surgeon was called in to reset her broken nose.
Stitches at 30,000 Feet
Faced with tight scheduling, Wilson required stitches before catching an international flight for her next directorial project. “The plastic surgeon put stitches in on the flight to Australia. Thank God!” she said, noting the urgency of the procedure.
Co-Star and Director Reactions
Co-star Anna Camp, who was asleep when the accident occurred, joked that she only learned of Wilson’s injury via text. Director Simon West praised Wilson’s commitment to her stunts, describing her “unique fighting style” and willingness to face pain—even from rubber-handled props.
Film Release and Final Cut
Despite the mishap, filming continued, and Bride Is Hard to Find is set for release on June 20. Wilson admitted she still finds it hard to watch the final fight scene in the completed film, given the real-life pain she endured.
