Veteran Nigerian film actress Zainab Bakar has revealed that a recent butt lift procedure significantly boosted her confidence. In a candid interview, she explained, “Liposuction really boosted my self-esteem. The effect is 100 percent. I don’t regret having the surgery. Why should I hide? I don’t live for others.”
She added that her partner supported her decision. “My man gave me a nod to the surgery. Now that I have a near-perfect body, more suitors and toaster lovers come to me. I keep turning them down. If you are irresponsible, I can’t stand you! I hate men who are chattering and proud. You have to work hard to cope with any situation. So, I tend to manage myself with the whole.”
Celebrity Life Brings Both Benefits and Restrictions
Bakar also reflected on how her fame has affected her personal freedom. She noted that celebrity status has its advantages, such as being recognized and respected at social events. “I enjoy the feeling that when you go to parties, you are noticed and respected and have the opportunity to meet great people,” she said.
However, she admitted that fame also imposes limits. “There are many things you want to do, but because of your celebrity status, you have to limit yourself from doing them,” she explained.
Balancing Education and Acting
Looking back on her early career, Bakar recalled the stress of juggling school with rehearsals. “In the beginning of my career, it was very stressful because I had to rush between school and rehearsals. I tried hard to reach the heights I aspired to and excel in my studies. I haven’t reached that height yet, but I thank God for taking me this far. I pray for more strength, grace and all the good things in life.”
