Doja Cat addresses her plastic surgery mishap?

by changzheng6

In the world of glitz and glamour, Doja Cat has once again found herself in the spotlight, this time for an unexpected reason. The Grammy – winning rapper, known for her bold fashion choices and boundary – pushing music, recently had a moment at iHeartRadio’s Wango Tango that led to a candid conversation about plastic surgery.

On May 10, 2025, Doja Cat graced the red carpet of iHeartRadio’s 102.7 KIIS FM Wango Tango music festival in a revealing chainmail dress. The outfit, with its extremely low neckline, exposed more than she perhaps intended, drawing attention to a visible shift in her breast area. The 29 – year – old artist didn’t shy away from addressing the issue. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she posted, “Don’t clock my contracted implant it’s all I ask.”

This so – called “contracted implant” is a medical condition known as capsular contracture. According to the American Society for Plastic Surgeons and the NHS, capsular contracture occurs when scar tissue forms around a breast implant. As this scar tissue hardens and contracts, it can cause the implant to become misshapen or shift. This not only affects the aesthetics but can also lead to physical discomfort for the patient.

Doja Cat, whose real name is Amala Dlamini, has been relatively open about her experiences with cosmetic procedures in the past. In March 2023, she shared that she had undergone a breast reduction and liposuction. At that time, she was clear about her new cup size, which she stated was 32C, and made sure to clarify that the procedure was not a fat transfer. She also gave her fans an update on her recovery process, estimating that it would take around three months for full healing.

Despite the visible implant complication at Wango Tango, fans on social media were largely supportive. Some expressed confusion over the term “contracted implant,” while others were quick to compliment her performance and overall look. One fan commented, “You looked more than great,” while another said, “We were too mesmerized by the show to notice.”

Just a few days prior to the Wango Tango event, on May 5, Doja Cat had a very different appearance at the 2025 Met Gala in New York City. She wore a covered Marc Jacobs hourglass blazer bodysuit, a stark contrast to the revealing dress she chose for Wango Tango. The Met Gala look was a more demure ensemble that concealed the area that later became a topic of discussion.

This isn’t the first time Doja Cat has addressed criticism related to her appearance. In the past, she has had a no – nonsense approach to those who comment on her looks. For instance, when facing backlash over plastic surgery, she once wrote on X, “Eat my long quiet and warm farts.” Her straightforward responses have become part of her persona, as she continues to navigate public scrutiny while remaining true to herself. As she moves forward, fans will undoubtedly be watching to see how she addresses and potentially resolves the current implant complication, and how it may influence her future decisions regarding her appearance and public image.
